This dataset contains passive Wi‑Fi detections collected by fixed roadside sensors across a major U.S. metropolitan corridor, producing continuous records of wireless devices and access points near roadways. Each event records a hardware identifier, broadcast network name and channel, device-type classification (access point, client, ad-hoc, bridged), manufacturer identity, measured RSSI values, precise sensor GPS coordinates, and timestamps. Differentiation between fixed infrastructure and transient client devices supports proximity estimation, dwell-time modeling, and hotspot detection. In-vehicle Wi‑Fi hotspots appear alongside personal devices, enabling fusion with companion plate and Bluetooth streams for enhanced vehicle presence confirmation.
