Teragence set out to fix that by collecting and aggregating crowdsourced mobile signal data at scale, then cleaning, standardizing, and running it through geospatial algorithms to produce location specific, quantitative insights instead of broad claims.

The company found its strongest traction not with the largest mobile operators, but with tier two and adjacent markets: mobile virtual network operators who had no way to verify coverage promises from their underlying carriers, IoT service providers trying to avoid costly failed deployments, real estate owners facing incoming mobile coverage rating requirements, and local authorities managing digital inclusion. Its flagship products, Signal Checker and a detailed cell tower coverage database, are sold on a pay for what you need basis, with customers like WiredScore, Wavemobile, and Telraam using the data to replace expensive physical site surveys with desk based coverage assessments. Teragence has continued expanding through partnerships, including a 2025 addition to Ericsson's Enterprise Wireless Solutions Technology Alliance Partner program.
